Multisensory Installation @ TATE MODERN

October 14, 2018

As part of this year‘s great TATE MODERN Hunday Turbine Hall commission, artist Sissel Tolaas and I developed the installation „Tear Room“. A multisensory experience aimed to illustrate the collective reception of suffering in times of social media by letting visitors experience crying collectively without an emotional trigger. The experience plays with the juxtaposition of the body reaction of inducing real tears and the disembodied cleanness of a white room in which the visitor and their tears become the only visible exhibit themselves..

The TATE‘s Turbine Hall installation is expected to attract over 400,000 visitors and is open to the public until February 2019. Come visit!
